Prevention and Screening
With the population in Alberta both growing and aging, the number of cancer cases is projected to double between now and 2025, reaching more than 24,000 new cases per year.
Working towards a cancer-free future doesn’t just mean searching for a cure; prevention is the first step to ensuring that future generations never face cancer.
By partnering with Alberta Health Services and the Alberta Healthy Living Network, we are using local and international expertise to improve prevention. Here are two ways we’re working to prevent cancer. Patient support
The Alberta Cancer Foundation funds programs at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and the Cross Cancer Institute that support patients and their families through the difficult experience of cancer, from diagnosis to recovery.
