Bring your own horse & Saddle up for a cure! Join us on a scenic, 16 km ride on private property, starting at the Daine's Rodeo Grounds. Your ride will take you through an old growth forest and along the river bank where your equine companion can cool off in the Red Deer River. Come out as a single rider or bring a trailer full of family and friends.
The journey began June 1987. Riders from all over Alberta came together to raise funds for the fight against cancer, in memory of those we lost along the way. Now entering its 30th year, this annual event has raised over $300 000. In sticking with the Alberta Cancer Foundation's "100% Albertan" motto, every dollar raised is kept within the province and monies are directed to the community and the Central Alberta Cancer Center located in Red Deer.
Whether you are riding to show your support for someone suffering from this disease, riding in memory of someone you lost or just want to support a great cause. Your pledges will help make an impact on ensuring access to earlier detection, better prevention, improved treatment and quality of life.
Whatever your motivation, you'll be among friends. Enjoy a great day's ride, tasty food and ride with up to 300 like-minded riders as you set off down the trail at your own pace.
We invite you, to join us, in making the 30th annual ride a huge success. Together we can continue "making life better for Albertans facing cancer."
You supply your horse and gear. Collect pledges, and pay your registration fee. We provide well marked trails, beautiful scenery, good company, breakfast & dinner, silent auction and prizes. More details coming soon.
