The Alberta Cancer Foundation respects your privacy. We protect your personal information and adhere to all legislative requirements with respect to protecting privacy. The Alberta Cancer Foundation does not sell or rent donor names.  It does, however, exchange donor names from time to time with carefully selected charities.  This is a cost-effective way for the Alberta Cancer Foundation to reach new potential donors in support of cancer research, prevention, screening and care here in Alberta.  You may choose not to have your name shared by contacting our privacy officer at 1.866.412.4222 or email us at acfonline@albertacancer.ca and we will gladly accommodate your request.

Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation

Effective July 1, 2014, Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation comes into effect. For charitable organizations, there is implied consent for a period of 24 months with existing donors, volunteers and participants. The Alberta Cancer Foundation, on behalf of the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, the Cross Cancer Institute and the 15 cancer centres across Alberta, would like to continue communicating with you about the exciting breakthroughs in cancer research, treatment and prevention taking place right here in Alberta.

If you have not been active with the Alberta Cancer Foundation for more than two years, you will automatically stop receiving non-donation related communication from us. If you would like to receive more or less information about the impact your support is making, please send an email to acfonline@albertacancer.ca or call us toll-free at 1.866.412.4222. As always, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of all of our emails.

Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)

PLEASE NOTE:In accordance with the regulations set out by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), official donation receipts can only be issued in the name of the individual or organization who is the true donor. Official donation receipts cannot be issued in the name of anyone but the true donor.

Therefore, gifts not eligible for charitable tax receipts may not be submitted electronically through this website. Ex. Group donations, event proceeds, ticket sales, etc.  All donations are non-refundable. For more information on charities and the CRA please click here. 

If your gift is not eligible for a charitable tax receipt please fill out the Printable Donation Form.

Throughout our Web pages, we provide links to other servers which may contain information of interest to our readers. We take no responsibility for, and exercise no control over, the organizations, views, or accuracy of the information contained on other servers.

Kids and Privacy

For children who visit our site, special rules apply. We do not request personal information about children, such as first and last name or street address and city. When kids send email to us, their online contact information (email address) is not used to re-contact them and is not maintained in retrievable form.

Opt-Out or Change Your Contact Information

Our site provides users the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from through a special online form. You may choose to receive only specific communications or none at all. You may also update your contact information previously provided to us through another online form. You can not remove yourself from our database, but you can prevent unwanted communication.
