Alberta's Cancer Centres
Supporting Leading-edge Cancer Care in Our Own Backyard
From the Canmore mountains to the canola fields in Lloydminster – the Alberta Cancer Foundation supports leading edge treatment, care and research that is making a difference for cancer patients across the province. As the official fundraising partner for all 17 Alberta Health Services cancer centres across the province, we make life better for Albertans facing cancer by supporting world-class research and compassionate patient care, right here in our own backyard.
Last year, over 63,000 patients were cared for at cancer centres across Alberta. As the number of Albertans diagnosed with cancer continues to increase, so does the need to further enhance and expand services available through these centres.
By making a gift to the Alberta Cancer Foundation in support of your local cancer centre, you help improve the patient experience through new medical equipment, enhanced treatment and care options, and wellness initiatives and specialized training for oncology staff. You can give directly to Alberta’s cancer centres as a way to honour a loved one, show gratitude for past care received, or simply give back to your community. These centre-designated donations drive much-needed improvements and excellence in care within each specific centre, ensuring every single Albertan has access to the best cancer care possible.

“The scary notion of radiation treatments every day for 6 weeks was abated by the wonderful, and compassionate staff operating that machine at Cross Cancer Institute. From the surgeons, to the Healthcare Aides, these people are ABSOLUTE HEROS.”
Richard Bone Ponoka, Alberta
“I just want to give a big thanks to all the people who were involved and all the great support for all the people who have a long journey ahead and are scared… Don’t be afraid that our cancer centre is not the best of the best, because it is. People need to know that and contribute to it.”
Kathryn FurlanCalgary, Alberta
“The staff and volunteers of the Cross Cancer Institute and University Hospital helped to raise me and provided a safe and caring environment during a potentially very lonely (and scary) time. As an adult, my wife and children have given me purpose and motivation, while the amazing hospital staff have given me much encouragement, patience, and support.”
Brad DraderEdmonton, Alberta
“The treatment I received in Calgary [at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre], I don’t believe I would have gotten anywhere else.”
