The Alberta Cancer Foundation encourages you to engage with our online communities through open discussions on our various social media platforms. We try to closely monitor all of our social media channels to ensure that posted content is appropriate. However, we are not always able to respond quickly. Therefore, it is acknowledged that all posts made to our social media platforms express the views and opinions of the individual author and not the Alberta Cancer Foundation and its employees, donors, board of trustees, volunteers, sponsors, contractors, partners or cancer centre patients. Information posted on any of our social media platforms should not be considered medical advice, nor replace consultation with a qualified health care professional. Information posted on our social media platforms is considered public. For your own privacy and that of your family, please exercise caution when posting any personal medical information on any of the Alberta Cancer Foundation’s social media sites and never disclose personal identifiable information, such as your location, health record number or financial information. The Alberta Cancer Foundation is not permitted to publicly provide any information about cancer patients in Alberta. From time to time, an individual and/or their family may permit a cancer story to be shared publicly that reveals some medical or personal information about the patient’s cancer journey. In this case, formalized authorization documents are completed before releasing any of this information to the public in order to protect the patient’s privacy.

These terms and conditions govern your use of any social media platform operated by the Alberta Cancer Foundation and are subject to change without notice. You are solely responsible for the content you post and all activity that occurs under your account(s). You may not misrepresent yourself or take the identity of someone else while using the Alberta Cancer Foundation’s sites. You agree not to use the Alberta Cancer Foundation’s sites for:

The Alberta Cancer Foundation reserves the right to review, edit and/or delete any user-generated content postings in its sole discretion. All links to other websites are made with intent to serve our online audiences. The Alberta Cancer Foundation is not responsible for the content of these linked websites and these linkages do not constitute endorsements of those sites by the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
